In the real world, there are only a handful of architects who plan and create the structures we use to cross rivers, seas, and dangerous terrain. In the Flash world, everybody’s an architect! Bridge building games that use realistic physics engines have been around for years, but now they’ve begun to elaborate upon the art and science of bridge construction with crazy and unique gameplay elements! We’ve gathered a few of the best physics bridge building Flash games below, each one eager to see how good you are at slapping girders together to cross large gaps!

Cargo Bridge – What’s the best way to cross hills, valleys, and bottomless pits? By building bridges, of course! Gotta get those boxes from point A to point B. Switch to Cargo Bridge’s blueprint mode where you can lay and connect girders that meet up with solid pieces of ground. Make something flexible yet sturdy, as it will have to support a lot of weight from the crossing workers, boxes, and elephants. Yes, elephants. When all is ready, switch back to test mode and start the action! Challenging and creative, Cargo Bridge doesn’t make bridge building overly complex, which is just the way we like it! BridgeCraft – More of a traditional physics-based building game, BridgeCraft features a number of materials you can use to construct strong, impressive bridges that will help you cross from one land mass to another. Working within a tight budget, you need to place segments of materials and bind them together, supporting everything with ropes, steel cables, and similar fare. You’ve got to balance cost with efficiency, of course, and the challenge can rise quite high in later stages, so you’d better know your stuff before jumping in. Don’t let the cute smiling sunshine fool you, BridgeCraft is serious business!

Moonlights – Who says bridges have to be horizontal? Ok, the definition of a bridge says that. Well, building towers is a very similar concept, only more vertical in nature, so, you know, we’ll let it slide just this once. Moonlights illustrates vertical bridge building (a.k.a. tower building) perfectly with a soothing atmosphere and challenging levels. Move your mouse over the goo-like structures and click to create new nodules. These knots automatically attach themselves to nearby nodes, creating a new solid part of the tower. Anchor the structure to the ground as best as you can, then keep building upwards to the sky, avoiding dangerous obstacles in your way. Your goal is to make it to the moon where you can absorb its light. Poetic, right? And perfect for casual Flash players who are looking for a realistic physics challenge!
